Guatap\u00e9, it takes about 10 minutes to drive to the big rock that towers over everything. The Pe\u00f1ol rock is a granite mass that formed 70 million years ago from quartz, feldspar and mica. On July 16, 1954, El Pe\u00f1ol was first climbed by a resident of the area. Meanwhile, 715 steps were made in one of the cracks in the rock to walk up. Something millions of tourists do every year.<\/p>\n<p>And for good reason, the view from El Pe\u00f1ol is spectacular. It&#8217;s a bit of a climb, but it&#8217;s worth it. Enjoy truly stunning scenery. Islets, water, cute little houses. You will be amazed. How wonderful. Sigh&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Admission to El Pe\u00f1ol de Guatap\u00e9 costs COP 25,000 per person. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Please note that<\/span> both the rock and Guatap\u00e9 are very touristy.
